I have .wav files transfered from DAT tapes that I am trying to clean up. There are no "breaks" in the material to sample the noise floor from to allow me to use the Noise Reduction plug-in, So consequently I am using the Audio Restoration in SF9. However, I find that after setting it to remove the most noise without the typical flanging, it introduces artifacts and glitches that sound like digital distortion. My settings are: Click Removal-12, Reduce Noise-10dB, Affect Frequencies-2.2K Attack Speed-15, Release-8, Noise Floor-minus 72.7dB. Anyone out there experiencing these kinds of problems using Audio Restoration? Any suggestions? |

Can you post a small sample of the file (before treatment) and I will take a little look at it for you... |
