DVDA handling of modified media

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've made a presentation in which I have rendered 7 avi files to a folder using Vegas 8 Pro. I have then used DVDA 4.5 to make the DVD. I dragged the avi files from Explorer on to the Main Menu. I then created a playlist and added a "Play All" button to the menu. I prepared and burned a DVD and everything was fine, but I was not happy with the ending, so I edited the seventh avi in Vegas and re-rendered it to the folder, writing over the previous version, and re-burned the project to a folder. The new avi file is about 20 seconds longer than the old one. The newly burned DVD ends when the old avi file ended; that is, the new one is cut by 20 seconds.

I thought that when I created the menu in DVDA by dragging avi files, it just created a link to the file.

I'd really appreciate any help in getting DVDA to know that the new avi file is longer without starting all over.

Also, if I edit any of the other 7 files, but don't change their length, do I have to make changes in the DVDA structure?

Thanks again, very much, for any help.

I think you'll find that when you look at the last AVI file on the timeline the end point will not be at the end - if you see what I mean. You can then just drag it to the correct position.

Thanks very much.

I take it that changes I might make to the other files in Vegas will be correctly reflected in DVDA unless the lengths change?

That's been my experience.
