Subject:A mysterious compatibility problem....

well, here goes nothin'!
After using ACID to construct a
song using samples of live instrumentation. I decided to
call my friend to bring over his DAT so that the time-
streched samples (originally at 131.3 BPM and now at 131BPM)
could be taken to the studio, thrown into his Akai sampler
and reconstructed using Cubase as a sequencer, as my s/card
ain't exactly a Pulsar quality-wise. Imagine our dismay
when we found out that the samples did not seem to run
smoothly when Cubase ran at 131BPM, as a result cutting off
a audible fraction at the end of the sample. And yes, we
checked the length of the note on Cubase - 4 bars for a 4-
bar sample, so no problem there.
I seem to think that the problem lies in the theory that
the way ACID time-streches loops is native to the program
structure only, i.e if you're time-streching in ACID,
you'll have to run it in ACID only. At the moment, the only
solution me and my friend can come up with is to record the
whole finished song in ACID into an Akai DPS12 and
drag/drop the samples into position. Can u please help us
on this?

Thanxalott!

Hello Jason!

To be honest with you, I don't know why this would be.

I'm not very familiar with how Cubase works.

131 BPM is going to be 131 BPM...no matter what program you are in.

You could try saving your .ACD project as a "Mixed Wave File", this
would render it down to one large wave file at 131 BPM... after doing
that, you could import that into Cubase, but other than that I have
no suggestions.

Good luck.
