in england we have a law named (the trade descriptions act) and after adding up how much the term pro in conjunction with sf acid i have consulted the law like every self respecting american would, and under the dictionary term pro, acid falls way short of its dictionary reference curentley i am 6 to 8000 pounds not dollars due to acids lack of professional qualities and frankly pete haller recent indignation about mtc is a joke (he admits this despite his indignation) my main problem both in sf and acid is the fact that my mac does not see files made in sf products and vice versa (look that up peter)despite assurances to the contrary what i would like is an explanation why not like my last post when lance from sf hung on to sf,s party line that they should, but dont listen it will be cheaper to fly you and accommodate you where i am than than keep booking studios only to find your products fail when i try to transfer them to other machines which i would not have to do if other areas of your product worked satisfactorily anyway("mtc has a slow start up " quote pete haller .please remember the pro title or is that just more american bullshit. if you doe not believe that my problems are real please im in la at the moment come see and save me some money. the product and its basic premise are fantastic (although the algorythims are quite a way behind some other time compression /expansion programs available(i wont mention names for fear of being deleted) but it just doesnt work in "professional" capacity and you know it ! if there is not a solution to this problem plaese explain and ill quit using it but there must be a way around it instead of aquiring other companies for 24 miillion dollars as you are proud to anounce on your home page solve the the basic problems that you already have and i really do mean basic for a"""""pro program"""" not forgettting the lack of a snap triplet function a case of programmers with no musical feeling in them whatsoever there in vegas but those inadequate features are another story please help me sort this i am sick of telling people of this programs good side only for them to get stuck at the pro stage (time is money or peter would you like to pay for my hold ups ) yours faithfully v newton |

Since you singled me out, I will try to respond. >>lack of professional qualities and frankly pete haller >>recent indignation about mtc is a joke (he admits this >>despite his indignation) I was angry? With whom? The last post I repsonded to was a user claiming that ACID did not sync to CW. It is a fact that CW does not generate MTC, therefore ACID cannot slave to CW, but rather must be the slave. Yes it is possible to use a shared MTC source that both CW and ACID could slave to, but the triggering problem with ACID could cause problems. (There are users that are not having problems with ACID slave to MTC, though I know there is a potential problem.) I have always admited that there is a problem with MTC sync/triggering in ACID. It will be fixed. >>my main problem both in sf and >>acid is the fact that my mac does not see files made in sf >>products and vice versa (look that up peter)despite >>assurances to the contrary what i would like is an >>explanation why not like my last post when lance from sf >>hung on to sf,s party line that they should, but dont File compatabilty is extremely important to SF. e-mail me a file from ACID and one from a Mac/PT that you are having problems with. I will look at them and also hand them over to the engineer that is responsible for such issues. I will then be able to tell you what is wrong on either side. The more details you can provide on how the problem manifests itself, the more I can do to help. >>listen it will be cheaper to fly you and accommodate you >>where i am than than keep booking studios only to find your >>products fail when i try to transfer them to other machines >>which i would not have to do if other areas of your product >>worked satisfactorily anyway("mtc has a slow start up " >>quote pete haller .please remember the pro title or is that >>just more american bullshit. if you doe not believe that >>my problems are real please im in la at the moment come >>see and save me some money. I believe you. >>the product and its basic >>premise are fantastic (although the algorythims are quite a >>way behind some other time compression /expansion programs >>available(i wont mention names for fear of being deleted) >>but it just doesnt work in "professional" capacity and you >>know it ! Mention any name you want. We don't have a policy of deleting posts. There was a big debate on this in the Vegas forum, and it got a bit out of hand and some messages were deleted by Kelly. I assure you, we have no fear of comparisons to any other products. >>if there is not a solution to this problem >>plaese explain and ill quit using it but there must be a >>way around it instead of aquiring other companies for >>24 miillion dollars as you are proud to anounce on your >>home page solve the the basic problems that you already have >>and i really do mean basic for a"""""pro program"""" >>not forgettting the lack of a snap triplet function a case >>of programmers with no musical feeling in them whatsoever >>there in vegas but those inadequate features are another >>story please help me sort this i am sick of telling >>people of this programs good side only for them to get stuck >>at the pro stage (time is money or peter would you like >>to pay for my hold ups ) We are aware of the short commings of all of our products. Whether the lack of snap to triplets makes us less pro or musical is subjective. I can say it is on the list though along with meters beyond 4/4, and a lot of other stuff that users have requested. We would love to add all of requests, but realistically we can't be everything to everybody all at once. The approach we take is that each version will be better than the last. Better to all? Not likely. Better to a majority? Hope so. ACID 3 will be better than ACID 2. Will it have everything you want? Don't know. Why don't you detail to me - off line or here in the forum - how you can't use Vegas in a pro environment. I want to see if I can solve this problem, as I do hear it, but I rarely get details, only that we don't work. Detail to me what would make ACID earn the Pro moniker - beyond the MTC issue. Peter |
