What you can do is... to convert them to another format... and it depends a little bit on what kidn of sounnd you're recording, Voice or music.. but I asume you have heared about mp3 files.. they are about 12 times less the size of a wave and it still sound good. mp3 is for some reason mostly used for music and for voice it's better to convert the *.wav files into realmedia *.rm which compress the files a lot too. So I guess you want to know how to convert the files into these formats. Boths SoundForge and Acid can "Save as" these files.. but it some cases you need to intall a plug in to to this. The best program for homeuser to compress files into mp3 is a software named Xing Audiocatalyst, For the realmedia files you can read more about it on www.realmedia.com more questions? /Lars |
