I use this program primarily for archiving Live shows, I record the entire LIVE show through an external USB Mixing console and record to Sound Forge 9 Audio Studio, How do I make individual tracks as Im recording or before burning a disc after recording, I have treid using the markers but it doesnt break the disc into individual tracks, do I need CD Architect, These are mainly band rehearsal and LIVE show CDs to archive. |

You could divide the tracks into Reigons ("R" key) than render them into separate files. HOWEVER... burning them in SF would add 2 sec.s of silence between tracks, SF only burns Track-at-Once. You would want an app. that burns Disc-at-Once. CD Arc would do that and more, like CD text, plug-in support, among other niceties. |

CDA is the easiest way. Just hit <T> where you want the track marker. Or <S> to split and <T> if you want to make a gap. Also you are stuck with track-at-once in SFAS, I suspect, which is a little tedious. geoff |

I will probably break down and buy CD architect, but if I can produce the 2 sec of silence or do regions with Audio Studio that works just fine, I just have to rememeber to apply the markers, as the the previous post about the mics, I was answering another post, basically the Samson or M -Audio USB mics are SIMPLE solutions and better then the little PC style mics, but not what I consider quality either. So farthe program is working very well with the Peavey USB mixer as the Sound Card, recording the a Lacie 7200 RPM External USB Hard drive, Ill probably buy a larger unit soon. |

If a live show, the gaps of digital silence will sound very odd. In CDA you can just drop the track markers without making a gap, or alternatively <S>plit the event at the track boundaries, and make a 2 sec gap (any gap is possible, but CDA has a preference snaps to 2 seconds). If you need to edit out rubbish between tracks, this is also easy in CDA while maintining 'ambience continuity'. <S>plit the event(s), trim out the crap, and then drag to slightly overlap/crossfade so there is no silence. Then place the <T>rack marker at will. You can also apply any DX plugins in CDA. geoff |
