I have a portable mini disk player and I want to copy the
music to my hard drive and then make a cd. I was told that
all I need is a cord with a male mic jask on each end and
that I could plug on eend into the headphone jack on the md
player and one into the mic jack on my pc and that I would
need a program to do it because windows only records 60
secs. so witch program do I need and how hard is it. I
looke dat the demo's from this sonic place and was lost
HELP!

hello aaron.

first of all, using the mic input from your sound card may not be
such a good idea. as this plug is designed for mics it will not
perform very well when you record music with it. at least, that's my
personal experience. your sound card should have a "Line In" input on
the back, and that's the plug you'll want to use.

to sample your music use a program like Sound Forge. you can download
a demo of Sound Forge in the "Download" section of this site.

good luck!
