Subject:phrase training

I hope to use acid as a phrase trainer so that I can
accurately transcribe guitar pieces. I am hoping that I can
copy the CD track into acid and then slow it down so that I
can hear the guitar licks at a slower speed without a loss
in pitch.

Is this easy to do? Hardware phase trainers cost a fortune
and they don't hold much sound. I was assured that using
acid was a good way to slow down phrases so they can be
easily transcribed. If it can be done I would be most
greatful to hear from someone who has done it or knows how
to do it.
