How can you cross fade two tracks in Acid Pro? Also, is it possible to cut out a portion of the project you're working on in Acid? I know you can delete events, but I need to actually splice a section of the project. I've read through the documentation and didn't find an answer. Thanks in advance for your help. |

cross fading tracks: 1. select the specific events on both tracks and press V. a line will appear in both events. this line controls the volume. 2. in the first track, decide where you want to start the cross fade and double click on the volume line at that exact point. A marker will appear. Do the same for the second track, and make sure both markers are at the same position. 3. now go back to the first track and decide where you want the cross fade to be complete. double click in the volume line at the specific location. a marker appears. drag it all the way down. 4. in the second track, create a marker at the same position as the marker you just dragged down in the first one. go back to the first marker in this track and drag that one all the way down. 5. now you have a "perfect" cross fade. still with me? ;) basically what you do is you fade out one track whereas you fade in another track at the same time, much like any hardware cross fader. it may look a little complicated, but once you've done it, and you can see/hear the result i'm sure it'll make perfect sense. :) i'm afraid i don't quite understand what it is exactly that you want to split. is it an event, or something else? good luck. Thanks for explaining how to cross fade. I think I understand now how to do it. As far as my other question, I was wondering if there's any way to cut out a portion of a song or project (not just an event). Say for example I have a song that I'm working on and I want to delete four measures in the middle of the song. Can this be done in Acid, or do I have to mix the entire thing down first and do it with SoundForge? Well, the only thing I can think of is splitting each event. So, set your cursor to the point where you want to begin splitting and split each event from each track at that point. Do the same at the place where you want to end the split. Then delete the events you want to get rid of (you can select them all at once with the Mouse Tool). Now you have a gap in your song, and your song is basically divided into two parts. Select the latter part (again with the Mouse Tool) and drag it to the first, so that it fits. Hmm, I hope you can make any sense of this. :) English is not my native language so it's sometimes hard to find the right words. Stephen Clark wrote: >>Thanks for explaining how to cross fade.
