Subject:Recording problems

Ive been using acid music for a couple months now and
whenever Ive wanted to record a mix Ive made, all I had to
do was hit record and stop it when I wanted it to
stop....then it would open up a new track containing what I
recorded. Now, when I do so, it does all that put it
actually doesnt record anything and its just dead sound,
whats my problem???????
