I'm evaluating ACID. I'm told that when you import a sample it displays the bpm of the track (sampled and not acidised). Can you tell me where it does that as I can't see it. Thanks, Sam |

There's a "File Information" bar at the bottom of the Media Explorer window (under the Explorer tab). When you click on a WAV (imported or not), it should tell you what BPM the track is. Note that it's a little different for tracks like One-Shots. Instead of showing BPM, it shows how many seconds the track is, sample rate, etc. Another note if you didn't know: when you include the loop as a Track in your project, you can right-click the Track in the Track List and select, "Use Loop Tempo (x BPM)," where x stands for the Track's original BPM. This is partially true. Acid will display the information but it may not be correct. What Acid does as an application is that it takes its best guest as to the bpm and root note for transposing for a nonacidized file. To see what i mean simply start browsing to and previewing your Windows sounds (ie logoff, chords, chimes). The best way to actually calculate bpm is with Sound Forge or you can always simply count out the time. :-).
