Subject:ACID 2 crash while opening old files under 2000

(I looked hard to see if anyone else had asked this question but came up with nothing so I hope I'm not being redundant.) I recently installed Windows 2000. ACID 2 works just fine. However, upon opening large songs (with a lot of tracks) I had created before the OS change, I get an error message right after the last track is loaded in. PROGRAM ERROR sfacid.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. I can open pre-Win2000 songs with a small amount of tracks just fine. The weirdest part is if I hit Esc half way through the loading of tracks, they stop loading and the tracks loaded up to that point remain. The file can be played but BPM and plug-in information hasn't been applied yet. I actually experienced this problem a few times under Windows 98 but found if I loaded songs with ICQ turned off everything worked fine. Under 2000 I've tried opening my songs with ACID 2 being the only application up and I still get a crash just as the file comes to finish. If I compose new songs under 2000 I can reload them just fine. they can be really long and contain many tracks and I have no problem. I'd really like to be able to get to those pre-Win2000 songs. |
