I'm currently running version 6.0, was recently given a gift of Sound Forge 9.0. My question is whether I should simply load the new software, or first uninstall version 6? |

Leaving 6 on, should not cause any troubles. If you have presets and so forth, then it could be worth leaving it on, so you can migrate and double check you have things safely. Also, things are a little different in 9 - so it gives you a little time to migrate by having both on machine - you can even run them at the same time! lol You can safely remove 6, and safely keep it - the choice is yours :) |

I installed SF9 and CDA5.2, and it left SF6 and CDA5.0 in the Sonic Foundry folder. Next question is about IZotope and the Preset Manager. Just install both? I don't see any description of the Manager. TIA Addendum: SF9 registration went fine, but I get error that the CD5.2 SN is invalid. The hint says it should look like B5-XXXXXX..., but in my manual it is B6-... I tried B5 and it doesn't work either. Could it be that CDA 5.0 is still on the hard drive? It mentioned its existence during install and asked if I wanted to upgrade to 5.2 and I said yes. Message last edited on2/3/2008 8:24:46 AM byBob N. |

1) iZotope - definitely install them - they're quality plugs. You will ony be able to use them in post-sf9 products - so SF9, Vegas 8 etc.. 2) If you have a need for migrating presets, then the preset manager could be useful - if not - it'll not make any difference. |

Thanks Kenny. And the issue with CDA is resolved. I had to remove the old 5.0 installed with Sonic Foundry because it was seeing that serial number. And I had to uninstall 5.2 and reinstall to have it expect a B6- SN. Really appreciate your quick response. |

Yeah, there would be absolutely no reason to keep the old CDA anyway. geoff Message last edited on2/3/2008 1:36:09 PM byGeoff_Wood. |
