Subject:SCSI vs IDE in professional recording studios

I'm building a computer for my professional music
recording studio. I will be using Sound Forge 4.5.

Should I get all SCSI stuff (hard drive / cd-reader /
cd-writer) or can I use all IDE?

I haven't seen much on this topic so I'm guessing
either it doesn't matter or it's so obvious to everyone
that I'm crazy for asking...

Thank You,
Dasher

Without doubt, I think that the SCSI is so far better, less CPU use (more plugs in real time), better management of disk, more stable, more devices at same time (Up to 15 with a one controller), and the SCSI HD's is better made (more warranty) than the IDE disk, and the HD SCSI are fastest than IDE disks (Up to 10000 rpm, more bits per second).
The best CD readers (Plextor) and writers (Plextor and Yamaha) are SCSI.
Best regards

I'd have to agree with Jesus. If you have the budget then go for SCSI. It's faster, more reliable and much more suited to
audio work because it keeps a constant speed of transfer as opposed to IDE which transfers in bursts.

Si.
