Magnify Mode, mouse shortcuts in 9 Posted by: jim137 Date:5/1/2007 4:43:40 PM Before Sound Forge 9 Magnify mode for mouse was invoked with the control key,You could hold down the control key make a selection with the mouse, and it auto zoomed to the selection. I cannot find this in Sound Forge 9. On page 29 of the included manual it says <<Tip: to temporarily use the magnify tool hold Ctrl while creating a selection>> This does nothing, it does not invoke the magnify tool or zoom to the selection made. Is Magnify mode by mouse gone? Is this bug? Has the magnify mode changed since the sound forge 9 manual was printed? i use this all the time to focus on a click or pop,

This feature was removed in order to accommodate Ctrl+Click based channel selection. I will add a request to optionally restore this behavior (though it may have to be with a different key). In the meantime, note that 'D' cycles through available tool modes, including Zoom. J.

However, I immediately noticed the lack of the magnify feature via Ctrl-LeftMouse-Drag that I had enjoyed so much in earlier versions. The 'D' cycle and standard Zoom function does work, but why not have both? I'd be just as happy with any combination of Ctrl - Shift - Left - Right keys/buttons. It has been almost a year since your last post on this topic. Would you please provide an update, and let us know if / when this functionality will be returned? Thanks!

I'd only had SF9 for a day, and hadn't had time to wade through all the new setup options. I'm pleasantly surprised by what Sony has done with this product. Get 9e.(I see you have, but this update only applies to this version, for others who may read this)
Look in options|preferences
scroll down to bottom, then 3rd one up is
"Allow ctrl+drag style zoom in data windows"
