I just bought the latest version of Sound Forge Audio Studio and I registered my copy with the "product serial number card". When I use the .exe file to run the software, a little icon pops up showing my what plugin's and what not it's uploading before the actual software appears. It always stops at VST plugins and the program just disappears. Nothing happens after that. I've used windows task manager while this all occurs and the "audiostudio90.exe" file appears then once it reaches the VST plugins, the program just terminates itself. System specs are in my profile. I have such bad luck, what the heck, will this thing ever work? Message last edited on6/13/2008 4:49:07 PM byPdiddy&theFam. |

It sounds like you have a rogue VST plugin that is causing SFAS to fail to start. To see if this is the case, temporarily remove all the files from your VST plugins directory (after making a safe copy of them elsewhere, of course). If SFAS now starts OK then you know that one of your plugins was responsible for the problem. You can then add them back a few at a time and try to open up SFAS after each group you add back - eventually you will find the one that is causing the problem. Once you have found the rogue you can: 1. Hope that a later version is available that doesn't cause the problem, or 2. Report the problem to the plugin's author to see if it is somethng that they are able/willing to fix, or 3. Find a different plugin that will do the same job, or 4. Just do without the plugin if it's one that's not important to the way you work. Mark |
