Subject:Disappearing region list in SF8.0

My region list disappeared all of a sudden. When I try to open it I see the toggle working in that the sound window either becomes active or goes inactive (greys out) so SOMETHING is happening -but the list is nowhere to be found. The playlist comes up fine. Unfortunately it's useless without the region list.

Any ideas?
