Subject:How to get rid of Loop after deleting material?

Haven't found a way around this one, in doing keyword searches on the forum... I find it pretty much illogical that when I highlight a segment on the timeline and DELETE it, a Loop region remains, that's the same length as what I just deleted. Such a residual loop is very rarely of any use, and even though it's trivially easy to press IO to get rid of the loop, It gets annoying when you have to do it over and over again when deleting a lot of little segments. Is there any way to make the Loop go away automatically after doing a deletion? |

Options / Preferences / Editing / Force loop bar to match selection. Problem is that it completely messes up being able to use i & o for marking a selection. Not a tradeoff i'm willing to make I dunno, i used to worry about this all the time. Now i deal with it by ignoring it. The only time it bothers me is when i have looping playback enabled, but even then it's pretty rare. |

Yep, same concern here, both in SF and Vegas although with slightly different behaviors. Lately I've taken to dragging the loop i/o points all the way to the left, partly because I use looped playback a lot for adjustments of effects and alignment, but I think a button or option to automatically collapse the loop region following certain actions, would be a benefit. Does this qualify as a feature request? Message last edited on8/3/2008 7:45:52 PM bymusicvid10. |

In Vegas Pro 8, I've found there is an option in the editing dialog to "Collapse loop region when no selection is present." IOW, when you click on the timeline, the loop goes away and the collapsed region sticks with the cursor until you need it again. Very useful for realtime editing. Even something as simple as this in SF would make my editing workflow go a lot smoother. Message last edited on8/5/2008 8:01:06 AM bymusicvid10. |
