Subject:SF9 on Vista Home Premium 64

Hi:

I have Vista Home Premium 64bit running on a Dell with an Intel Core2 quad, 6GB RAM. I have disabled the audio drivers on the motherboard (Realtek), and currently have enabled a TASCAM US-144 (not sure if thats important)

I can import and play audio files in SF9 but when I try to process them, even in ths slightest way, the audio is damaged (dropouts, distortion, etc). Even a 3db volume cut damages the audio, as does a simple "max peaks" normalization. Anything i can do to fix this?

Couple questions:

- Which driver are you using on the Tascam?
- What latency is the Tascam running at?
- What file format is the audio (wav, mp3 etc)?

Do you get the same issues in other audio apps?

The Tascam is running the latest drivers 1.12, and the latest firmware as well (also 1.12). Release notes say it is good to go for 64bit Vista. I have tried the Tascam everywhere between the lowest latency and medium latency. I have only exported in microsoft wav format, but this happens in tha native app. I have tried this with Sonar 8 also and the same thing happens, both internally, and when I export to SF

Solved the problem. It was my Tascam interface. Replaced it with an m-audio and it works great
