Subject:New user to Audio Studio needs help

I've been using the scrub tool to slow tracks down, but don't know how to save the track at the new slower speed, the "save as" option saves cut tracks with fade in and fade out edits, but not the speed.

What do I need to do, so that when I play the track back through windows media player, it is slower than the original?

Any help would be appreciated.

The scrub tool is purely for previewing and doesn't affect the file in any way. There are lots of methods for changing the speed. Here's the simplest way: Underneath the timeline find the display for the sample rate. It's probably 44100 or. Double-click it and type in a lower value. To have it play back at 2/3 speed type in 2/3 the value. Now go to Process/Resample and change the sample rate back to the original value. This method sounds just like changing the speed on a tape recorder or record player as in the sound will drop in pitch as well as slowing down.

I haven't used the studio version in a long time so i'm not sure of all the included effects and features. Look under Effects for Pitch Bend. If it's there you can use this to have the speed change over time or retain the same pitch while slowing it down. There might also be an option under Process for Time Stretch.

Thanks for the reply. I used Time Stretch and it did exactly what I wanted. Brilliant.

Cheers
