I am trying to extract audio from a audio CD. I go through all the dialog boxes and go to start the process and then it aborts with the following error message: SFMMCX'-(17) ''-(1) -'MATSHITA BD-RE UJ-225S Q310'-(0) Module Line 0 The operation is not supported by this drive. Any thoughts? Thanks! |

It is saying your drive does not support audio extraction, which may or may not be the case. Have you tried ripping with Windows Media, Nero, CDex, Roxio? Have you tried a different audio disc? Many commercial (copyrighted) music CDs no longer allow digital extraction. |

You should also make sure your CD/DVD drive has the latest firmware update. geoff |

Yes, I can can extract with other programs (Exact Audio Copy as an example). I'm making copies of spoken word tracks and I need to combine some, so I figured it would be easier to do it directly in Sound Forge, rather than ripping it first in a different program. |

I, too am having the same problem. I can extract when using my desktop PC but not my laptop. Did you ever figure out how to fix the problem? I can rip using other software but not SF 9. |

I'm also having this problem. Has anyone found a solution yet? I'm running Sound Forge 9.0e, under Vista 64-bit (SP2), with an LG GGW-H20L bluray rewriter that I bought a couple of months back. I've run the firmware updater for the drive and it says there are none available. The main reason I upgraded was because I wanted to ensure maximum compatibility with Vista. Here is the detail from the error: 'SFMMCX'-(17) ''-(3) -'SATA HL-DT-STBD-RE G YL03'-(0) Module Line 0 The operation is not supported by this drive. Doesn't Vi$ta have some flavor of DRM that prevents ripping (or is supposed to)? Jack |
