Subject:USB mic not showing as input

I have an SE USB 2200A USB mic that has apparently installed on connection to my Vista (32 bit) Sony Vaio. In the Control Panel>Sound window the mic shows up and the meter registers sound. It says it's working.

But when I try to record in Sound Forge 9, it says "Input device says 'none'". No matter what I've tried, I cannot get Sound Forge, or Windows Sound Recorder, for that matter, to see the mic as an audio input device.

Are you selecting that device in SF Options | Preferences | Audio | Audio Device Type ?
