Subject:VBR rendering

Whenever i render a .wav file to VBR mp3 in SF9, it messes up the time tag on the song. so say i had a 3:00 song it might show up as 6:00 in a given player (WMP) even though it only has 3:00 to play. while this doesn't actually do anything to the song itself, it is confusing to listeners and annoying.

so i was wondering if anyone else has run into this/
if anyone has a solution (i don't mean just rendering to something else)?
