Does anybody know if it is possible to use time signatures
other than 4/4 with Acid Music 2.0?

Bryan-

Great question. I just found out today that I can't figure
out how to change the meter to 3/4. What a bummer! I
can't find anything in the help section. If you find
anything out, please let me know. Thanks

I know in Drum Tools, there are 6/8 loops, but they appear
in ACID as being like quarter note triplets in 4/4 time.
They SOUND
just fine, and they line up fine at the start of the
measure, but you don't get 6/8 divider lines when you
expand the measures. You have to take off the "Snap To"
feature and do some math () to put individual beats in
your measures.

For more exotic signatures, you''ll have to snip and cut in
a loop editor (Sound Forge, for example). I''d love to do
stuff in 7/8, or 3/4, or even weirder stuff, but ACID (at
least for the time being) won''t let us set up in anything
but a 4/4 shell. Maybe in ACID 3.0?

We can snip and cut and manipulate, with volume envelopes
and the like, to manufacture an odd time signature loop,
but it is time consuming, and it will look odd
graphically. For example, I can force a 7/8 rhythm, but it
will look like 4/4, and the "measures" of 7/8 will extend 7
beats of 4/4 time, so I'll lose my measure reference
points. By the way, this works best with purely rhythm
(drum/percussion) tracks. It is even harder to edit the
musical loops to make them act like odd time signatures,
but it can be done.

Peace.
