Subject:mp3 sampling problem

you can get samples and loops from wav files....
you can save in mp3 format
how do you same or use a file in mp3 format with Acid, it
doesn't seem to be able to import this format for some
reason. I can work around by convert the file from mp3 to
wav.... but then the file takes up alot more space.
HELP
