Subject:Error while starting playback

I have ACID 2.0 and it has worked for at least a year just fine. One day I go in there and it doesn't work. I checked everything and eventually re-installed the program. Sometimes the sound comes out and sometimes it doesn't. The thin vertical bar that moves along with the wave form on the screen stops moving after a couple seconds, but the time keeps going (but no sound). Sometimes I get the message "An Error occured while starting playback. Time out occurred when preparing the audio device for playback." I went to Options-Preferences-Audio and have it set to my GINA output 1/2. I know its not the GINA card because I can play wav files imbedded in a Cakewalk file through the GINA. Help? try checking the mixer settings (found by the explorer, properties, fx tab) and make sure the gina is selected. this happened a few times to me and that's what it turned out to be. hth |

I am getting exactly the same problem after months of trouble free use! Anyone know of a solution? I have checked the mixer settings and they are ok. |
