Subject:Sound Card Recommendations?

Now that Sound Forge can record and edit at higher bit
rates than the CD 44 kilobits per second, what sound card
supports the higher rates? All I can find are 44 kB cards.

Anyone have recommendations about what sound cards support
the higher rates in Sounf Forge 5.0?

Hi, I've found some better sound cards in Music stores such
as, Sam Ash Music, and Mars Music, and some video editing
magazines have some good mail order sound cards that do
48000. But you will be paying a higher price for them in
some cases, just make sure you get something up to date
because thay outdate pretty quickly.

I have a Delta 66 Digital Audio card from M-Audio
(Midiman) that does 24/96. It sounds clean and is very
easy to set-up. They also have WDM drivers(low latency)
in beta which will allow input of realtime synths/samplers
and also realtime effects and extremely low latency.
SONAR a new release from Cakewalk has been designed to
take advantage of this next generation of audio drivers.
Most digital hardware manufacturers have signed on to
support this new driver model and M-Audio has been at the
forefront. The final release will probably coincide with
the official debut of SONAR toward the end of next month.
I have had my Delta for almost three months without
having any problems. They also have a website @
www.midiman.com that gets updated fairly often.
I am sure there are many other quality pro audio
cards out there. All I can tell you about is the one I
currently have. Be prepared to pay between $300.00 & $400.00
dollars for one.

PS The Delta 66 has 2 pairs of analog ins & outs and 1 pair
of digital ins & outs for a total of 6 channels. It can be
totally configured via its software control panel on your
computer desktop. There are tutorials on the companies
web page that detail how to configure all the major
digital audio softare packages ( like Vegas Audio/Video
Cakewalk Pro Audio and many others) so they are optimized
for Delta series.
