Subject:Locking Windows also locks recording in progress

Greetings, When I lock Windows manually or let the idle timeout expire, if there is a Sound Forge recording in progress the recording will be halted when I unlock Windows. I can't resume recording until I restart SF. By halted, I mean that the recording timer is still running, but the VU meters are no longer moving, and after the screen locked, no further information was written to the recording file. So if the system sits locked for 1/2 hour, and I think it's been recording something during that time, I get a nasty surprise! My system is Windows 7.7100 x64 on a Dell M1210 with the nVidia graphics adapter, 3GB of RAM and a 7200RPM disk. I'm running SF 9 at either 44.1/16 or 96/24. The source is an iPod into a Presonus Firebox v2.46 into a StarTech FW ExpressCard with the good TI chip. I've got less than 60 processes running at most times, and I've got a pretty good handle on what it takes to performance-tune a Windows system. And, to add to the confusion, I'm not running a screen saver ... just "Blank Screen." I don't think this is going to turn out to be a simple performance issue...maybe a complicated one, but probably not simple. The workaround seems easy: Don't lock Windows. But I'd like to be able to secure my system when I walk away while it's recording. Any suggestions on what I might do to resolve this problem?
