Subject:Bundling A Project's Files

Over the course of an Acid project, I'm pulling various files from all sorts of places. I've got directories full of samples, I've got loop libraries wherein I've copied some of the loops to my local drives, and so on. The project's coming along nicely and now I want to archive it. Is there some way to tell Acid to go grab all the samples a project uses, copy them to a certain location, and then use the files from that location going forward? Seems like this would make it very easy to archive a project and all its relevant files. Also, how do most people deal with CD-based loop libraries? Given that I only have one CD-ROM drive, I can't browse through more than one at a time... and it seems someone inefficient to copy all the contents of a loop library to my hard drive when I may only be using a few of the files from that library on a project. Any advice for someone who wants to be more organized? |

Use File>Save As on the menu bar. Indicate under "Save as type" to save as "ACID Project with external audio." This will save the ACD file *and* any related loops to preferably a folder on your hard drive to make things neater. I can't really suggest a way of organizing things. Usually, I have a folder of customized loops. I usually browse through loops and copy them to my hard drive before beginning a project but also often I keep them close on hand just in case I need a little creative zing. I also have folders each containing a completed ACID project. If I want to archive them for storage, I zip them up with WinZip and place them on CD-Rs or CD-RWs. HTH, Iacobus |

Thanks for the help! I'll give that Save As option a shot. |
