Subject:File Size

I purchased Acid DJ last night, and already I made several songs with it. It's great. The only problem I have with it is the file size of the songs I make. I'm making these songs for an entertainment site, and these wav files are weighing in at 14 MB and MP3's, which I hate to use due to compatibility issues with certain browsers, are about 10 MB. Even stripping a song down to the bare bones leaves me with a MP3 file that's no smaller than 5 MB. Any suggestions for making the files smaller? Is there any way to optimize them for the web? Yes, they sound great, but no one is going to wait around to listen to them. B. Bryan |

The only way to reduce the file size of a Wave without reducing the length is to reduce the number of channels (i.e., stereo to mono), the sample rate, or the bit-depth. All of this will result in a degradation of your sound. For MP3's you can reduce the bit-depth, but this will reduce the quality of your audio. Hex www.thefreeside.com |
