Seems like SoundForge Audio Studio 9d (SFAS9d)
Is adding extra space at the start and end of audio.

Is there a setting to change this?

[B]Example:[B]
1) open music.mp3
2) make selection regions> copy
3) Open new 44.1 16bit stereo file
4) past

the pasted file has extra "padding" at the stat and end

Is there a setting to change this?

If you're saving as .MP3, then the space is going to be added. That's the way ... 3, 4... of the .MP3 world.

Right.

What you pasted won't have extra padding. The extra comes in when you save as .MP3, which is what is supposed to happen.

If you really need to avoid the extra space then save in a different format.

What they are trying to say is that the extra time added is part of the mp3 spec/encoding, and is not something inherent to SF.
