Subject:Recording speaches digitally

I have tried to record some tapes that I have (only voice
no music) digitally using ACID Style. It worked fine except
for 1 minute of the tape it used 5 MB of memory. Isthere a
way to reduce the amount of bits required? Also, I would
like to be able to play that on RIO 500 portable player.

If ACID Style can not do it, is there another program that
I can use for my project?
