Two recordings were made using two separate systems simultaneously. Now, I am trying to merge the two. Recording #1 on the right channel and Recording #2 on the left channel. I have no problems with drag and drop. Works like a champ. The problem is getting the timing down. I would like to "Cut" a section from the beginning of the left channel. (.200 secs) Right now, it sounds like a really bad echo. Either SF won't trim from one channel of a stereo recording, or I am doing it wrong. Option #2 is someone having a trick to getting the two lined up. |

You can do all kinds of sound processing to one channel or the other but you can't delete from one channel only. You would have to copy the channel to a new window, do the edit, then reassemble back to stereo, which could make getting the timing exactly right a process of trial and error. This would be much easier in a multi-track editor such as Vegas where you can line the two recordings up perfectly and then render the result to a new stereo file-- quick and easy. If you're using SF 5.0 the Vegas Audio LE component included with it should give you that functionality. |

You could use the "mute" audio function to trim off the stuff you don't want in either channel. To make them line up perfectly you could use the "simple delay" in the effects menu and use the preview and adjust until the two channels perfectly line up. Brian Franz |

Thanks for the tip, Brian. It seemed there had to be an easier way. - Doug |
