Subject:wavs recorded in ACID sound distorted????

I can record in any other program and wavs are clear, I can
use those wavs in ACID fine. When I record a track in Acid
it is horribly distorted??? Have had this prob in W98 and
nt.
Im using 1ghz p3,512k ram, Layla 20 sound card. Could it be
incompatibility with LAYLA?????
any insight would be appreciated!

What do you have your bit rate set at, Mine is at 16, And I
select make project match time, and I select my wave device
for my sound card that I'm using, if you have a problem
with your sound cards wave device try selecting Microsoft
sound mapper which is supposed to find the correct wave
device for you.

I've had heavy distortion in ACID using my sound blaster live's mic input. Make sure that the monitor check box is checked in the recording window, and keep the level out of the red and yellow on the meters.
