SF 10a build 425 - elastique plugin - preset manager 2.0 Anyone know why the elastique plugin acts as expected (speed & pitch) for a few seconds, maybe 5, then goes back to its 'unity' setting? |

Is "Real-time" unchecked? If so, non-realtime previews are limited by default. See Options->Preferences->Previews to change...or check Real-time. If that is not the case, please provide media type, selection length, and effect settings. J. |

J, "Real-time" is not an option when using the plug-in chainer, which I was. However, I just tried Process > Time > elastique. There, real-time was checked by default, and the same behavior occurred. When I UNchecked real-time, and increased the default 10 second preview to 30 seconds, a strange sort of software loop occurred where elastique appeared to be preparing a 30 second preview (w/progress bar), then did the same again, and again, and... without ever producing a preview of any length. This is what Alt-2 (audio properties) tells us about the file. It is an MP3 created with a Roland R09HR. File name bbc.20091012_183813.MP3 Location E:\WIP\R09HRFile size 51.41 MB (52,638,702 bytes) File attributes - --a- ---- Last saved 2009-11-06 13:09:08 File type MP3 Audio Audio format MPEG Layer-3 Audio sample rate 44,100 Audio bit rate 96 Kbps Audio bit depth 16 bit Audio channels 2 (Stereo) Audio length 01:13:06.387 (193,439,703 samples) Video format No Video Video attributes No Video Video length No Video Video field order No Video Video pixel aspect ratio No Video I hope there is a solution as I purchased this upgrade specifically for realtime speed adjustment. J, A little more info for you: 1. elastique behaves the same way under SF9 that remains on the same PC. 2. you asked about elastique settings. I've been using the [Sys] 3 preset (time/2, pitch*1). 3. more testing required to be certain, but it appears elastique behaves as expected when only pitch is changed (time*1). 4. I tried a standard windows WAV file - the problem still exists - no audible difference. Thanks, Ken |

Hello J, Is there a status update you can provide for this issue? - has it been duplicated by your staff? - should I report it (by phone) as a potential bug? Thanks, Ken |

Just a thought - try converting the file to .wav and then apply your processing. When satisfied, save and re-convert to whatever format you want. Trying to edit an mp3 file typically results in problems and definitely further degradation of sonic quality. |

Hi drbam, Thanks. 4. I tried a standard windows WAV file - the problem still exists - no audible difference. ...however, I just re-tested, this time recording a new WAV file recorded with SF 10.0a and had the same unexpected behavior: - both before and after saving the file - regardless of whether or not some audio was 'selected' (highlighted) or not Has no one else noticed this problem but me?
