I just upgraded to SF 10 (from SF 7). The install seemed to go well. However, when I start SF 10, it freezes on the SF Spash Page at s "the 'Creating file I/O Manager ...'. I get a Windows message that says 'Sony Creative Software Error Reporting' Client has stopped working'. I've Uninstalled SF 10 ... REinstalled SF 10 - same problem. I've done the MSCONFIG in the knowledge base - same problem. I've allowed SF 10 thru the Windows Firewall. I've checked the RUNDLL in the security settings. I'm OUTTA GAS here ... I love SoundForge & don't know what else to do ... (Confused because SF 7 and Vegas 4 still work!!!) Does ANYONE have ANY IDEA as to what the heck is going on here? I would sooo appreciate any guidance and direction. Thank you! San Diego Dave Message last edited on12/4/2009 6:33:51 AM bySanDiegoDave. |

My guess is that there is an interesting codec already installed on your system that conflicts with one of the file i/o plugins. You might try removing the folders under C:\Program Files\Sony\Sound Forge Pro 10.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\ one at a time until Forge starts successfully. J. Dear J. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I did have a codec (tsunami) installed and that was smacking down the Sound Forge initialization. THANK YOU! I was at my wit's end and you solved the problem! You rock! Dave |
