Subject:Recording audio via midi

I am able to record in Cakewalk via the midi out of my
sequencer to the USB port on my laptop, but ACID Pro
doesn't allow me to do this. It shows the midi interface in
the preferences/options/sync window, but doesn't give me
the option to select the midi interface as an audio
recording device. Can anyone offer some insight as to what
I should do to record my own loops? Also, the files created
in Cakewalk can't be converted to .wav or other recognized
ACID Pro files. How do I swap work back and forth?
