Hello,

The "unsupported media type" error message generally occurs
when a project created is opened in Acid Pro that was
created using a different system or system configuration.
The project is set to play each track through an audio
device from the old machine/setup. Normally this problem
can be fixed by opening the project, then, one track at a
time, click on the little number next to the solo and mute
buttons and select the audio device you wish to use for
playback. Do this for all tracks and the project should
play properly. After verifying that it does play, save the
project and you will not experience the same trouble the
next time you open it.

NOTE: this must be done once for each project that exhibits
the problem you describe.

Hope this helps.

Actually I had this same problem and tried this example of
the previous reply. Well I figure i'm a lazy person and I
played with some settings...

1. no need to go through every track like it is mentioned.
(Although i did find out some new information :)

2. close that project. What i did I went to
options\preferences\audio

there is a "default playback device" there change it to
what you need. For me It linked to my modem/ fax. (hmmm
wouldn't that be cool if w could make music out of that
fax/modem noise?... nah they did it w/ cell phones!) Either
way i changed it to the sound card and it works like a
champ now. I can hear again- ITs a miracle!! :)

hope this helps others out!

The Default Playback Device setting only affects the
playback device used in new projects you create. Projects
created prior to changing your audio setup or system can
require changing the routing on each track as I described.
