I keep getting A pop up window that won't go away everytime
I use the HELP (contents and index) in all sonic foundry
programs...ACID 3, SOUND FORGE 5.0, & VEGAS VIDEO.

It says INTERNET EXPLORER SCRIPT ERROR (An error has
occured in the script on this page) error = 'return' error
outside of funtion, or, object expected.

I don't get this error in any other help application except
sonic foundry programs.

I'm recently upgraded from windows 98 to 98SE so take
advantage of the upgrades and directX. Everything else
seems to work fine, just the Help section.

any help on what to do would be great.

One possible solution may be to go to
start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs. Once in
there you should be able to click on Internet Explorer and
then select repair. When it is repairing it may ask that
you insert the Win 98 CD. Also if IE does not show up in
add/remove programs try updating your verison of IE to the
latest.

I get the error anytime I go to Help> Contents & Index> and
Display any of the Keywords from the help Section. Often
times the pop-up window won't go away. Funny thing is, I
don't have problems with this in any other Software Help
menus expect Sonic Foundry. I've taken the advise of your
tech support and tried to run a repair from the add/remove
programs of Internet Explorer 5 and it says:

Internet Explorer could not be repaired due to the
following errors:

Version 5.0.531.7 of file WSHEXT.DLL (and file WSHOM.DLL)
exists, but the version needs to be greater than 5.1.4411

I recently upgraded from Windows 98 to 98SE for the latest
Vegas Video Upgrade but I'm hesitant to upgrade my Internet
Explorer to 5.5. I have heard 5.5 is not user friendly
with certain CD Writing software (EZ CD Creator/adaptec,
etc).
Is this true, even a cause for concern, or is IE 5.5 a good
version to upgrade to? Is this entire situation even an
Internet Explorer issue?
