Enabling "Direct Mode" in SF8.0d? -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Enabling "Direct Mode" in SF8.0d? Posted by: buckaroo Date:2/16/2010 5:50:40 AM I have been reading about Soundforge when in use as an editor with another sequencer, like Cubase that SF can change the sound (editing) and Cubase picks up the changes when back in Cubase without saving?... Is this something to do with Direct Mode? I can't seem to enable it? I know I can open the file as always (navy blue waveform) and open only as "read only" (green) But i didn;t know whether opening in Direct Mode would update soundforge files referenced in other sequencers without saving?? I can do this in SF but once I save, it overwrites the file and I can't "go back" - I wonder if Direct mode aloows you to audition updates in your host sequencer before overwriting?
