Ok SonicPCH.First of all thanx for showing concern and answering to a newcomer. The whole thing goes like this.I run Win98 SE on an Asus CUV4X-C motherboard,Intel PIII 800,512MB RAM 133MHZ,Adaptec 2940 UW2 SCSI controller,1 Seagate and 2 IBM hard Drives(all SCSI 10000rpm ),Plextor 40x CD-ROM and Plextor Plexwriter 8/2/20 CD-RW.I use the Matrox Millenium G-400 Max for 2 Nokia 19 inch Trinitron Monitors and i congratulate the addition of the detachable windows in Acid 3. So up to the soundcards:I have a Soundblaster Live Platinum and a SEK'D Sienna.I also have a Midiman Midisport 2x2 USB midi interface. The Sienna card has 2 midi in/out ports and the SBLive 1 in/out port.I use all 5 midi ports of my system to trigger sounds from :1.Roland 1080 2.Roland JD 990 3.Novation Nova 4.Korg MS 2000 5.Roland JD 800.Every synth is wired to each midi in/out port. I use Emagic Soundiver and Logic Audio . I also use Sonic Foundry SoundForge 4.5 and Steinberg Wavelab. Also Easy CD Creator 4.5,Propellerheadz Reason, and lots of Plugins from Waves,TC Electronic, Opcode ,etc. I use the Roland JD 800 keyboard for midi input. So now you have an exact idea of my system here is the problem : In order to record midi in Acid 3 you go to the Preferences and you specify which of the midi outputs you want available to trigger sounds from and generate midi clock. The devices you specify appear also in the Midi Through dialog underneath so you can choose which device you 'll be actually hearing while recording.Fine.But everytime i start recording midi no matter what midi through port i use, some of the notes hang and sustain until they're hit again.I ve checked all possible configurations in the Prefences Dialog but everytime i get the same result i mentioned.I also set my keyboard not to transmit SySex as an alternative but nothing.I also tried the 1 on 1 configuration like using the JD800 just for midi keyboard and one module for sounds like the JV 1080.I used all sorts of combination in this stripped line up like using always the JD 800 for midi input and changing midi ports and even sound modules. No solution. Please have in mind that i have all latest drivers for all my devices and that the situation i'm describing reffers to using Acid 3 as standalone and not in kind of external or internal sync to any kind of software or hardware.I also keep my harddisks defraged often since i work with audio files and move audio data a lot.Thanx for the patience. If you can find the answer to my problem i would be much obliged as i have started to think that i must be getting old and losing my head. |
