Subject:How can I record a song/track?

I have ACID Style Hip Hop and I cant seem to record the song to my hard drive. Is this possible? Whenever I try to record the song I have made, It comes out as silence. How do I record the song? Do I need a special sound card? Do I need set the sound card in a specific way? I would like to record the song as a .wav file and then burn it onto a CD using my Adaptec software. Please help me!!!

You're misunderstanding the purpose of the record function. If you wanted to record a song from a CD onto your hard drive, you would use record. If you want to save a finished project, you just need to select "Save As" from the "File" menu. You'll then be able to select where you want to save the file, and what file type you would like to save it as.
