Hello! I hope that someone can help me. I need to insert a Media Marker that allow me to skip forward or go back to positions within a session or file, as if you do in a CD with separate tracks. I am an audiobook publisher and need to create tracks within files. Can you help me how to do this in Sound Forge 9. Thanks in advance for your help.

- Ctrl.+ Left/Right arrow.
- View> Metadata> Regions List (Ctrl.+ L + Win)
- Create a Regions Playlist.
- Change Markers to Regions; save Regions as files and create Events.
I'm sure there's other ways I have not thought of. Many of which can be accomplished via Scripting.

Thank you!

When creating the regions, which input format, do I have to use?
Thereafter I need to save the file in WMA, and the file has to contain the tracks when you play it.

I'm afraid you can't expect the markers in a WMV to do anything unless you are able to program a player to respond to such markers. If you want it to act like tracks on a CD player then you need to make a wmv (rather wma) for each track.
This is how most audio books are organized afaik.

Dear Jesse,

Thank you for your response. My question was in WMA, no WMV. We already sell audiobooks in CDs, and you are right we put each track a separated files in each CD.

One of our digital distributors, already puts tracks inside a single WMA file and players recognize thems and you can skip forward and go back. Maybe I have to use another software.

I did a google search and found lots of results. Looks like you need the windows media encoder pack (free) to use the file editor to add markers.

Thank you Jesse! I just download the encoder program. I will spend the night learning how to do it. I'll write if I have any problem. Regards,
