Hello, Yes you can just open the file in Sound Forge and go to file, save as, select stereo from the drop down list and give the file a name and hit ok. but it just gives you two channels of the same waveform. See ya |

But this isn't true stereo. This is double mono. True stereo is when the left and the right channel have different information. You can transform a mono signal to a pseudo signal with e.g. with a reverb or changing the phase of the channels. |

Hello, No, all that does is make an exact copy of the track, but there is some neat things you can do with duplicating tracks, like make two copies of the track so you have 3 total and leave 1 normal and pitch shift 1 up a few semitones and the other down a few semitones then it sounds like the same file with a corus effect almost, its pretty cool, If you do it with a guitar track it sounds like 3 guitar players playing the same thing at different tones. make sure you paint all three tracks in the time line together. See ya |

Hello everyone! So, if I use Save As in Sound Forge to 'change' a monophonic sound to stereo, the *same* sound (voiceover, music) will play in **both left and right channels (speakers) at the same time? I am trying to *avoid* having a mono sound play ONLY in the right channel! Any help for this novice SF user would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! --Abe :-) |

Hello Again, Yes that is correct. Just save as stereo and it will sound great. I use it to change Mono loops to Stereo loops all the time. See ya |
