My mistake. The cd can be read but there is no text info. |

How do you know there is no text info? |

Hello, Well, I did print out the info so it is in there somewhere but if it doesn't show up when the cd is inserted in a non-Sony product (if what I read elsewhere on the forum is correct) it doesn't do my clients any good as the tracks have no names. I burned wav files to make a voice demo in the hope the tracks would be identifiable but alas they are just numbers. Is there any way to get name and artist info to appear outside the land of Sony? Perhaps I've missed something... Thanks |

I understand how cool it is for a client to pop the CD into the player in his pickup truck and have his girlfriend see his name up there. However: Many/most non-Sony hardware players do not recognize CD Text. Many/most software players do not recognize CD text. For a workaround: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDDB This probably will not help in the pickup truck scenario, but it's better than nothing. You've done your reading, so no, you haven't missed something. |

So to sum up: You cannot read CD-TEXT on a device (or software) that does not read CD-TEXT. This is not Sony's fault. geoff Message last edited on5/17/2010 2:36:41 PM byGeoff_Wood. |
