If you are recording a new file, and have a filename selected that is already in use, acid will cheerfully overwrite that file without any warning whatsoever.

Normally the "record take N" increments so you can avoid this problem, but if you switch directories after it has already picked a number, it won't check that it's still a valid file.

please add a warning message for this!! i had one track ruined already.. :/

Assuming ACID 3.0 since you did not specify.

This is more than a warning dialog for this.

If you name your new recording something that is already in the folder and press record, a dialog pops up that saying:
"The file \newfile.wav already exists. Please enter a new name."

You are forced to rename your file.
