jgalt, I'd love to hear your technique for transfering 78s to your hard drive and preparing them for CD-R. I've done a bit of this myself but am a far cry from an expert. For starters, I use one of those industrial strength Newcomb Audio classroom portables that has a mono output which runs into my sound card's IN. I've heard better results can be achieved using a sampling rate of 22050 instead of 44100. I've even heard of reversing the file BEFORE running a click and crackle plug-in! Of course, 78's always have a fair amount of surface noise, no matter how clean the condition. Any tips on noise reduction? Please share. |

Mr. ford: I'm not an expert at this. I have a 'not very well written' text file that I share with a few friends. It touchs on a few things I do. If you'd like a copy, send me an email and tell me what it is you want - I forget easily and quickly! jgalt@iwic.net |
