Hello. I've installed 3.0 and that went fine, when trying to play back songs created in 2.0 they glitch, and stutter badly. Opening 2.0 again and playing them sounds fine. I've been reading the posts and have some ideas from the support staff that I'm looking into. In the meantime, has anybody else experienced this anomoly? Thanks, Cammy, Alpha66 |

Hello, Yes you need to adjust the buffer setting in 3.0, and I also had problems playing back 2.0 songs in 3.0, I had to readjust all my volume settings on each track. I don't know if this is the same problems that you're having but thats what took care of the problem for me. See ya |

Yup, I've got exactly that - really bad. See Tech support note below - standard answers basically said my system is well above everything required. I believe part, if not all, the problem lies with DirectX 8. (A couple of games have also started stuttering) DirectX8 says my sound card does not support hardware acceleration - it used to! Does Acid3 work with DirectX7? Anyone know how to uninstall directX - I'd rather not go back to a 2 month old disk image but I'll try it if all else fails Tech Support Message: I have large projects (400 samples+ and up to 80mins) which were created in Acid2. They played fine in Acid2 Loading these into Acid3 I have been unable to make them play correctly, they stutter very badly. Switching tracks off has showed that with <200 active it plays fine, with 200-210 it slow and 210+ it stutters. (Note typically around 20-40 samples playing at a time) I've tried playing with the buffer length but this only increases/ decreases the time to the first gap.
