Subject:Lose Monitored Signal when recording in Acid 3

Hello,
When I try to record into ACID 3.0 I lose the monitored signal when I press start in the record dialog.
I set up the record window, have my source monitored (I can hear and see the monitored source). Get all levels ready, the press start.
Once ACID start recording, I lose the sound, the meters show signal, I just can't hear it.
I have an RME Hammerfall which is set to monitor the source. I use this same setup with other programs.
Windows 2000, MSI dual 866 w/ 1 gig 133 buss ram, Ultra SCSI2 drives.
The manual didn't help (or I missed something).
Thanks,
Rich

Well, to my disappointment, I discovered (throught the knowledge base) you CANNOT monitor your signal when recording into ACID (and apparently VEGAS as well). This is very bad. It is extremely important to hear the input signal from the AD converter for correct adjustments. Monitoring through an external mixer while "blindly" recording into a program is no way to go in my opinion. Especially if you do not use and external mixer and are "virtual" all the way.
SawStudio, Logic, Cubase allow input monitoring.
If Sonic Foundry support is listening, PLEASE fix this. My consideration in upgrading my Vegas lite is out the window.
Don't get me wrong, ACID is a marvelous program. I feel that if this area were addressed, it would be perfect.
Regards,
Rich

Did you see at the top of page 154 in Chapter 6 of the manual? It mentions a monitor there.

The full manual is at:

http://www.sonicfoundry.com/download/step1.asp?CatID=12

Don't know if you can actually *hear* the input as it's recording (if that's what you wanted) though. Haven't tried (yet).
