Hi all,
This relates to a similar post I made in the VMS forum. I am trying to create a gradual speed effect to a piece of audio - I want it to sound like a vinyl record is being allowed to spin up to speed, so I want both the speed and pitch to start slow / low and reach normal speed after approx 3-4 secs.
I cant seem to find a way to achieve this with the sound forge family (I have studio and downloaded the trial of pro). I have been trying to apply a velocity envelope but cant associate it with speed.
What am I doing wrong please? Am I trying to achieve something the programmes cant to?
Help very much appreciated!
Andy.

Velocity envelopes only apply to video.

In Sound Forge you can play around with Effects / Pitch / Bend (maybe available only in Pro). You can only slow it down to 25% so you may have to run the effect several times, selecting progressively shorter sections from the beginning each time. Keep in mind that slowing the audio will make it longer so if you're shooting for 3-4 seconds you'll have to start with a much shorter clip.

You can't do ths with Sound Forge (or any of the Sony applications) alone but there are several plugins that can be used to achieve this effect. The one I use is called TapeStop - it's free and can be downloaded frrom here.
